- Bread Pudding - The Pioneer Woman made a yummy sounding bread pudding, but I need just the right audience to make such a treat. This would be the type of treat that I would make and feel quite disappointed if no one wanted some because they just don't understand the beautiful thing that is bread pudding. I'll use her recipe to start.
- Peach Pie - I just discovered a place where you can go and pick your own peaches and raspberries. Doesn't that sound like the perfect combination? I am going to make my way over there this week so I can make a yummy peach pie for when my pal Sara comes to visit. She likes fruity desserts and I like to make goods that show I was thinking of their favorites.
- Apple Dumplings - Are you sensing a theme? I tell my friends all of the time how I do not like fruity desserts, but the more I think about it, I do! I just like my fruit surrounded by crusty goodness and a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. I saw these in one of my cookbooks and they served it with caramel sauce. YUM. I am getting fatter just writing this post.
With all of the hullabaloo in the world, it would be nice to get back to midwestern sensibilities.

Sara: I love bread pudding! I hadn't had it in ages and decided to try a new recipe for it myself. It was delicious, and very custard-like (I also love custard). Alas, no one in my family appreciated it but me. Sad. Sad. Sad.
I always say that I don't like fruity desserts either. The truth is, I like them, but given a choice between a chocolate dessert and a fruity dessert, I'd pick the chocolate one every time.

I would highly suggest trying all those recipes when I come and visit.
I will happily serve as taste tester for any of the three first tries ; )
In halving the recipe for the bread pudding, I must have done something wrong. The texture was awesome but it was oh-so-sweet and the whiskey sauce smelled like a tired out bar. I wonder if there's a difference between Jack Daniels and Crown Royal?
I'll try it again and let you know if I have better luck. I love her website though - the pics and directions are awesome.
