A Question

Lately, I have found myself asking this question...

WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?

Do you know the answer?

yes. i know the answer. every person was taught to be a person by other persons who are persons. since there is so much wrong with every person, the vicious cycle only continues. (see vicious foodchain aggression for further explanation) and for the record, i misspoke when i said you always wanted to beat up randy. what i should have said was: the brothers were always making you beat up randy.

Personally, I think that what "wrong with people" is god and this unholy desire to "find" jesus.

Since I realize that a comment like that is likely to get me killed, especially if I were trying to walk into an abortion clinic or stop someone from getting the electric chair in Texas, I will explain my answer.

Many people I run into who have "found jesus" or been "saved" or "born again" tend to be passive aggressively assholes.

Most people who are often considered by these same people to be "immoral" or "values-challenged" tend to keep to themselves and live their lives in a matter befitting that of jesus.

The "born agains" tend to find ways to put these people down (I am usually one of those being put down) without overtly doing it to their faces.

At the same time, those "immorals" tend to treat people the way that they would like to be treated, which is, of course, with respect for their thoughts and beliefs.

Now, before anyone gets too upset with me, let me say that I am not trying to generalize. Obviously, there are many people who fit into both categories who are the opposite of how I described them. Good for those "born agains" who actually treat people different than them with respect. I salute you. Fie to those of you "immorals" who do not follow suit. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Overall, however, I have found that god inadvertantly tends to bring out the worst in people, while those who don't necessarily follow the tenets of god and jesus tend to treat people respectfully because they they want people to understand and respect the fact that they do not necessarily believe the same things that others do.

Personally, I'm not sure where I fall in the spectrum, however, I am probably closer to what the "born agains" would call "immoral", which is unfortunate, since anyone who knows me can tell you taht I am anything but.

That's just part of what I think is wrong with people.
